School Nurses

SCHOOL NURSES

Kayla Prestage and Keesha Makepeace are our school nurses.  As medical employees of the district, their nursing licenses restrict them from giving students over-the-counter medications.  A non-medical employee may give a student an over-the-counter medication with your permission.  If you wish for your child to receive over-the-counter medications during school hours, you will need to complete and submit an Itawamba County School District Authorization for Over-the-Counter Medication to be Taken During School Hours form.  The forms are on our school website or can be requested from your child’s teacher.

Nurse's Rules

  • Your child needs to be fever free without medicine for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

  • Your child needs to not vomit for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

  • We abide by the date of return on a doctor's excuse. Your child does not need to return until that date.
